A council’s waters team use historic alert data from their Heed sensors to meet their regional council reporting requirements.

The council knew the locations they installed Heed sensors were regular offenders for overflows, however didn’t realise how regular — over a six month period, three sensors generated 133 alerts.

This information enabled the council to accurately report their efforts to prevent overflows through early detection, helped them prioritise infrastructure upgrades, and justified a wider deployment of Heed sensors for greater network protection.
